HERE is the NBC Nightly News report that aired tonight in case you missed it!
I thought the report was pretty true to form. I think they did a great job of depicting who we are and what we are all about. The are only two issues I had with the interview. First, was being lumped with the “emerging” movement. In fact the word “emergent” was never even asked or mentioned in any of the interviews that were taken. I DO NOT consider us an emerging church.
Secondly, the response to Jennifer’s Snipes question was taken completely out of context. Her original question was, “How do you see politics and the church effecting the 2008 election?” In which her resonse was, “I think that is a personal issue…set aside from any church issues.” Her question was never anything about homosexuality.
Other than that I think the report was great. I am still blown away that we were chosen for this story. We had an incredible experience with NBC and the entire Nightly News crew…those guys were great to us! We are very appreciative of the fact that they chose to keep the story on course instead of pushing their own agenda. I want to give a big thanks to Tom Brokaw for the opportunity, to Rich Latour, Senior Producer of NBC Nightly News with Brian Willimas, for setting this whole thing up and for the awesome interview, Liz Boyer for finding me and doing the first intial interview and to the NBC film crew…those guys were awesome!
Seeing our 12 week old church on TV still has me a little dazed! I am blown away with all that God is doing. I am so pumped to see how God will use this to further His vision for Pine Ridge Church and for reaching this entire county for Him! Pine Ridge I hope you are ready for another unbelievable weekend!! Hold on…God is about to rock our worlds and turn this place upside down!
It has begun and yet the best is still to come!!
great job, my friend. good shepherding and leadership. you were true to Him and to whom He has made you. i thought it was a positive statement [despite the fact they tried to make it look like you and al were at odds]. of all the thousands of church leaders in the web, God sovereignly guided their browser to you. use the force wisely, young jedi! go God, go pine ridge.
I saw it and you did great! True to form for political pieces, they tried to create controversy but don’t think they succeeded. If all stay true to what God calls, it will continue to show through!
You should have worn better shoes.
Great job Tadd. Thought it was a great snapshot of what Pine Ridge is all about in your community. Pray that God will use it to draw more people to your church and Him.
I watched the interview last night. It was great to see Pine Ridge get in the national spotlight. Oh and I liked your shoes.
Hey Tadd. I just watched the interview online the other day and wanted to say Good job. As a student at SBTS with Dr. Mohler, I was a bit surprised that they seemed like they were trying to pit you two against one another. I know there are disagreements there, but certainly, it seemed, there was no disagreement with the content of the interview. I was taken back somewhat by Ms. Snipe’s comment, but after reading it in its original context here in your blog, I have to say I agree. God bless you as you lead and equip your congregation!

hey - i realize there were a number of added nuances to teh interview - hard to stop these from happening in our controversy-obsessed world - but i thought you did a great job - and your church also. well done!
